Hi Mom:
We returned from our backpacking trip to the Sisters Wilderness
Area. Joey had a great time. We camped one night at the 7,500 ft
level. We figured that no Chinese Crested on earth had ever been
to that spot. The part of the whole trip he liked best was crawling into
my sleeping bag at night. We are going to start a new blog called
Joey’s Adventures. Ha ha ha….

beautiful pictures, worth framing for sure!

Benmar's Play of the Day   "Kruger"
Kruger shares his life with Bob and Kathy Cassis

Dear Skip and Nancy

I have been meaning to drop you a note and tell you how great Kruger is doing.  We are thankful he is too tall because we wouldn't have him if
he weren't.

We hope you are both well and that you are enjoying breeding and showing.  Dogs bring much pleasure to people
First, he is very healthy.  He is sleek and his coat shines.  Just a hint of gray around
his mouth beginning to show.  I still have him on the same diet you did.  We tried
some other foods but his coat got dull and his skin flakey and so we went back.  I
put a little peanut oil on the food and he loves it. Strong well defined muscles, velvet
ears.

love to watch him run.  He kind of hops in the high grass in the front yard and
sprints around the mown areas at top speed.  Our son has a pharaoh's hound and
Kruger can almost keep up with him.  He's fast.  He loves to protect our yard form
deer and can outrun them until he catches up to them and then he throttles back to
just keep up. Incredible.  His point is more graceful than a ballet dancer.  While he
is working the field I like to whistle him and watch as he comes to a stop, looks at
me inquisitively like he is saying "What now?

Of course he owns the sofa in the family room.  Well, not quite, he shares it with the
two of us.  He likes a pillow so if we are there, we often have a puddled head in our
laps.  It is particularly challenging when we sit on the love seat on the front porch.
He is a little too big for our laps, but that doesn't stop him form trying. He'd be in bed
with us in a flash if we let him but that privilege is reserved for the grandsons' bed
when he comes to visit.  Kruger usually sleeps outside our bedroom door until we
are safely asleep and then he slips down to his couch.  They don't call them Velcro
vizslas without cause a flash if we let him but that privilege is reserved for the

We have only one problem with Kruger and that is he doesn't like to be left alone.  Five minutes after we leave him he starts howling and often
doesn't stop for hours.  Of course we have one neighbor who it bothers enough to complain to us.  We have the problem under control.  When
we leave him home, which isn't often, we have a bark collar that sprays a little citronella when he barks.  I can not smell it but he sure doesn't
like it and he learned immediately not to bark.  The other part of the solution is that we take him to work with us.  He sleeps next to the desk
and has become an office fixture.  He will also stay in the car or truck all day if I let him so when I am working in the driveway, I just open the
door to the truck and he stays put.  We boarded him when we took a vacation and he raised so much of a ruckus the kennel had to move him
to a cage next to another dog so he's stop barking.  His kennel is both inside the garage and outside.  It is big but he doesn't spend a lot of
time in it.  He has pretty much free run of our 2.5 acres.

We have considered getting him a playmate but haven't found any breed we like well enough to add to our family.  Besides there is no more
room on the couch.  We thought of another Vizsla and while looking for another rescued dog, ran across Kruger's sister in Lacey.  I heard she
is showing well.

Kruger is healthy and passes his exams with flying colors.  He's current with his shots.

When we walk him anyplace, people come up to us and ooh and ahh and tell us how beautiful he is.  We think so too.  I honestly think they
should change the standards for him.  :-)

We are so blessed by this dog.  We love him dearly.  Thanks for giving him to us.

P.S. Have you bred another winner yet?  We keep looking for one of your dogs at Westminster.  :-)
